At the conclusion of a multi-month stay, Boeing’s Starliner Crew Flight Test mission is set to return to Earth without its crew.
NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams launched to the ISS on June 5. But because of thruster issues, the space agency has opted to return the vehicle to Earth uncrewed. Wilmore and Williams will return to Earth in SpaceX’s Crew-9 Dragon in February 2025.
The now uncrewed Starliner will land at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico via a parachute-slowed, and airbag-cushioned landing.
